Acupuncture needles are engineered so precisely that usually a very mild sensation is felt, if any at all. The needles are about the diameter of a hair. Most patients report feeling deeply relaxed and often have instant pain relief. 

Once a week for three to five weeks is a good base to determine how you will respond to the treatment.  Often the condition improves after one treatment, however the pain often returns within a day or two. Then after the second treatment the pain subsides for a little longer. And by the third treatment the pain usually subsides even longer. This will depend upon your own body type and the severity of your condition.

The burning of small cones of moxa on the skin may cause a blister. This can lead to a scar, depending on your skin type. Although this is rare because we use a special oil on the skin before doing moxa and try to keep the heat within your comfort level. If this does occur, the scar usually completely fades over time.
